Feast of Christ the King

The Feast of Christ the King, always the last Sunday in October in the traditional calendar, falls on the 25th this year. Ever relevant to souls, our times even more desperately need to rediscover their Heavenly King to find interior strength and peace as well as social concord. Brotherhood among men comes only by the Fatherhood of Almighty God. Peace among nations we come by recognition of Christ, the Prince of Peace.

Pius XI declared the Feast of Christ the King in December of 1925 through the Encyclical Letter Quas Primas. The Cristeros of Mexico took as their battle cry ¡Viva Cristo Rey! “Long live Christ the King!”

Let’s prepare well for this great feast, and live a life in conformity with the will of so great a King. ¡Viva Cristo Rey!
